Documents Required

Standard Documentation

• Completed Visa Application Form – Fully filled, signed, and submitted in original.
• Passport (Original + Copy) – Must be:
  • Signed and valid for at least 90 days beyond the intended departure date from the Schengen Area.
  • Issued within the last 10 years (extended passports older than 10 years are not accepted).
  • Contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
  • Include copies of previous Schengen visas (if issued within the last 3 years).
• UK Residency
  • Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.
• Photograph (Original) – Recent passport-sized colour photo meeting Schengen visa requirements.

Visa Application Form

• Completed and signed Austria Schengen Visa application form.

Passport

• Must be signed, have at least two blank pages, and be valid for at least 90 days beyond the return date from Austria.
• Passports older than 10 years are not accepted.
• Copies of previous Schengen visas issued within the last three years (if applicable).

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.

Photograph

• One recent passport-size colour photograph meeting Austria visa photo specifications.

Supporting Documentation

All documents must be recent (dated within 10 days) and presented in original with photocopies unless otherwise specified. Additional documents may be requested by the Embassy or Consulate if necessary.

Proof of Occupation

• Employed: Employer letter (signed and dated, less than 10 days old) confirming employment, along with the last three payslips.
• Self-Employed: Recent (less than 10 days old) official letter from an accountant, solicitor, or bank manager confirming business registration and financial standing.
• Student: A signed letter from a UK educational institution, confirming enrollment.
• Retired/Unemployed: Recent official document from the Jobcentre or Pension Service confirming benefits (if applicable).

Proof of Finance

• Latest 3 months’ UK bank statements showing the applicant’s name, address, and sufficient funds to cover the trip. The statements must be dated within 1 week of the application submission.
• Alternatively, online bank statements with official authentication are accepted.

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed return travel tickets mentioning the applicant’s name and travel dates.
• If traveling by car, provide a car registration, insurance, return ferry/Eurotunnel booking, and the driver’s licence. If the applicant is not the driver, a signed cover letter from the driver must confirm joint travel.

Proof of Accommodation

• If staying in a hotel/hostel/camping site:
  • Confirmed booking with the applicant’s name, travel dates, and accommodation address.
  • If the applicant’s name is not on the booking, a signed and dated joint travel confirmation letter from the person whose name is on the reservation must be provided, along with a copy of their passport/ID.
• If staying with family or friends in Austria:
  • A signed and dated invitation letter from the host, confirming the stay period and address.
  • Copy of the host’s passport bio page.
  • If the host is a non-EU citizen, a copy of their valid Austrian residency permit.
  • Austrian registration certificate (Meldebestätigung) of the host.
  • In some cases, the host may need to provide an Electronic Guarantee Letter (EVE) issued by the local aliens police in Austria. The EVE ID number must be submitted along with the visa application.

Travel Insurance

• Comprehensive travel insurance covering the entire Schengen Area.
• Must include a minimum coverage of €30,000 for medical emergencies and repatriation.
• During winter (November–March), coverage for winter sports is mandatory.

Photo Specifications

• Recent (not older than 6 months), clear, and in colour.
• Taken against a plain light background(white or off-white).
• Full face, non-smiling, no sunglasses or head coverings (except for religious reasons).
• Printed on normal photographic paper.
• Must be attached to the Visa Application Form.
